1. Difficulty Level:

Jee mains is relatively easy and based on NCERT Syllabus but JEE advanced is very tough compared to Jee mains.

2. Syllabus:

While both exams are based on the same syllabus PCM. the depth and level of understanding required for JEE Advanced is higher than for JEE Main.

Jee mains can be attempted twice in a year while JEE advanced can be attempted twice in the consecutive year.

Exam Pattern:

JEE Main has two papers – Paper 1 for  B.E/B. Tech courses and Paper 2 for B.Arch/B.Planning courses, while  JEE Advanced has only one paper.

Exam Pattern:

EE Main is an online computer-based test, while JEE Advanced is a pen and paper-based test.

Admission Process:

The admission process for JEE Main  and JEE Advanced is also different. JEE Main is the qualifying exam for  admission to NITs, IIITs, and other top engineering colleges

while JEE Advanced is the qualifying  exam for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

The  counseling process for JEE Main is conducted by the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority), while JEE Advanced counseling is conducted by the individual IITs.
